FRENCHMAN'S INCREDIBLE ADVENTURES IN ARMENIA
YEREVAN, JANUARY 17.ARMINFO. Jean Cleargue, representative of
Hospitaler Order of St. Lazarus French Charity Organization
can't receive compensation and leave for France.
He stated at today's press conference that he came to Armenia a year
ago to setlle the conflict that occured between "Erebouni" Medical
Center and "Apaven" cargo transporter company. "Erebouni" medical
center requested Order of St. Lazarus French
Charity Organization to render expensive medical equipment as a
humanitarian aid to Armenia. Mr. Cleargue stated that Artem
Koushkian, owner of "Erebouni" medical center, refused to pay $2300 to
"Apaven" company, and, as a result, the French side had to pay,
instead. Besides, Mr. Cleargue found out that "Erebouni" was no
charity hospital. The French charity organization
sent medical equipment amounting to $ 600 000 to Armenia. A.
Koushkian refused to take the equipment and Mr. Cleargue asked to
compensate the unexpected expenses he had during his 6 months'stay in
Armenia. The total expenses made $4 000.
As a result, all the expensive equipment went to the regional
hospitals of Ijevan, Yeghegnadzor, Goris and the Central Prison
Hospital.
Mr. Cleargue sent a letter to RA President Robert Kocharian and
French Ambassador Henry Cuny with request to deport him to France.
Victor Soghomonian, Press Secretary of RA President, informed ARMINFO
that Mr. cleargue may receive the response to his letter from RA
Foreign Ministry.
It's worth mentioning that Hospitaler Order of St. Lazarus of
Jerusalem is a middle age order. At present, it's a closed order and
only the representatives of the old European aristocracy can be its
members. The order was initiated in VII century a.d. at a hospital at
an Armenian monastery in Jerusalem.-
