Tbilisi. Georgia Defence and Security conference with participation of representatives of the Georgian national security sector, government officials, NGOs and international organizations, will be held at Batumi-based Radisson Blue Hotel, on June 28-29 - Georgian Ministry of Defence (MoD)reported on Wednesday, June 27.
According to the Georgian MoD, during two days, participants in the Conference will discuss a number of important issues, such as: security in Europe and the South Caucasus region, cyber security, ISAF (International Security Assistance Force) mission and future plans, NATO in the wake of the Chicago Summit, Euro- Atlantic security, future threats and challenges.
"This Conference represents a good format for exchange of view-points and conducting a dialogue, on the one hand, between Ministry of Defence and civil society and on the other-with partner states` representatives," Georgian Defence Ministry stated.
The Defence and Security Conference is held twice a year through the Defence Ministry's organizational support. NATO Deputy Secretary-General Alexander Vershbow will join the Conference on June 29.
