Within the Russian 200-mln-USD soft loan Armenia is to be procured to "Iskander M" missile complexes that are considered one of the best models of Russian developments and show quite high technical characteristics, informs "Zhamank" newspaper with a reference to a source close to the Republican Party of Armenia.
Referring to Turan ArmInfo has previously informed that Russia is to allocate money to Armenia for the purchase of armament that can efficiently solve issues of strategic importance. Armenia is to receive "Pantsir-S" - medium range surface-to-air missile, all-terrain infantry mobility vehicle "Tigr ", BTR-80, means of communication, anti-tank missile complexes, etc. According to the info, these armaments have partially delivered to Armenia.
In response to ArmInfo's enquiry at Ministry of Defence of Armenia regarding the armament procurement the news was neither denied nor confirmed. ArmInfo has been told to wait.
Meanwhile, ArmInfo's high-rank Republican Party sources have informed that part of the Russian soft loan will be channeled into subsidizing the energy price hike in Armenia.
