The government of Australia recognizes the sovereignty of Azerbaijan and advocates "withdrawal of troops" from the territories surrounding Karabakh, according to Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop.
AzerTag reports, citing the Azerbaijani embassy in Australia, that according to Julie Bishop and Chair of the Australia-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Friendship Group Luke Simpkins, Australia urges Armenia and Azerbaijan to exert joint efforts to put an end to the Karabakh conflict.
At the same time, Julie Bishop pointed out that Australia supports the OSCE Minsk Group's activities towards the settlement of the Karabakh conflict.
