The volume of receipts of money transfers is almost double the amount of shipments

Baku. The turnover of money transfers in the banking system of Azerbaijan made in January-April 2012 the equivalent of 481.8 million manat ($ 613 million).  Compared with the corresponding period last year, it is 85.3 mln AZN or 21.5% more. The volume of receipts at 96.3% exceeded the sum of shipments, which in turn increased by 43.1% over the comparable period last year.

In April, the turnover amounted to AZN 126.9 million, an increase compared with last April by 14.6%. According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, the average amount sent went down from AZN 877.3 in January to AZN 776.5 in April and the average received - from AZN 594.7 to AZN 563.3. The number of sent transactions grew from 44,000 to 51,600, and the number of received ones - from 113,000 to 154,000.

The total number of recorded remittances during the period was equal to 727.1 thousand, including those received - 533.8 thousand.
