Tbilisi. I Infantry Brigade Platoon of the
Georgian Armed Forces is participating in the multinational battalion-level
field exercise - "Rapid Trident 2014", in Yavoriv, Ukraine - Georgian
Defence Ministry reported.
According to the report, Rapid Trident
supports interoperability among Ukraine, USA, NATO and Partnership for Peace
member nations.
According to the training scenario,
multi-national brigade have to operate against unlawful armed formations with
combine forces. In preparation for the field training exercise, training
audiences will undergo one week of situational training exercises that focus on
field training exercise key tasks such as countering improvised explosive
devices, convoy operations and patrolling.
"Rapid Trident 2014" is being conducted
by USAREUR. 15 countries are taking part in the exercise with participation of
approximately 1,300 personnel.
Participating nations' forces include:
Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Canada, Georgia, Germany, Great Britain, Latvia,
Lithuania, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Romania, Spain, and the USA. "Rapid
Trident - 2014" will be completed September 26.
