Tbilisi. A heavy rain in Ozergeti district (Western Georgia, Guria) caused a flood in resort town Ureki, Georgian "Rustavi-2" TV company reported on Monday, June 18.
"As a result of the heavy rain rivers broke their banks on the territory of Ureki", chairman of Ozergeti town council Aleko Mameishvili told.
According to him, approximately 100 houses and agricultural lands were flooded, there were cases of cattle death. At the present time all residents are in safety places, local authorities are ready to provide people, whose houses are flooded, with dwelling.
As soon as the weather gets better, water will be pumped out from residential houses and basements. Approximately 50 houses were flooded in another town of Guria - Lanchkhuti.
