Political expert: Reports that the Azeri Parliament might adopt a law "On Occupied Territories of Azerbaijan" were just an attempt to see the reaction of the Azeri society, Armenia and the world community
Marat Terterov: Armenia’s long term security will be better served by strengthening economic security, rather than defining national security on the basis of the Tsarist Russian catch-cry “armiya i flot”
In his Facebook letter presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan has called on his "colleagues" Raffi Hovhannisian and Hrant Bagratyan to consolidate behind one candidate,
Hayrikyan quotes social surveys as saying that Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has 43-45% of the votes, while Bagratyan, Hovhannisian and he from 5 to 35% each. "So, if we consolidate, Sargsyan will have just 30%, while we as many as 67-69%. Let's come together and believe in miracle," Hayrikyan said.
He does not agree with the opinion that it is too late for such consolidation. "If I put off the election for 14 days, we will be able to nominate a single candidate and to campaign jointly for as long as 10 days. If we do it, we may hope for even 80%. We have two options: either to win together or to lose each on our own," Hayrikyan said, urging the people to explain to Hovhannisian and Bragratyan that this is the last chance for all to succeed.
When asked by ArmInfo about Raffi Hovhannisian's possible response to Hayrikyan's letter, Deputy Chairman of Heritage Party Armen Martirosyan said that Hovhannisian was busy with his campaign and they had not yet discussed the letter.
They in Hrant Bagratyan's electoral headquarters said that they would respond later.
