Tbilisi. The Foreign Ministry of Georgia does not share accusations of MFA of RF that the Georgian party disrupted the meeting under Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) in the zone of Abkhaz conflict in Gali, deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Nino Kalandadze briefed journalists on Monday, July 2.
At the end of last week MFA of RF rested on Georgia the responsibility for disruption of the meeting under IPRM in Gali district of Georgia. The Foreign Ministry of RF considers that "on June 27 the Georgian party under the vain pretext refused to come the meeting under IPRM, initiated by UN".
"I do not know what meeting is the question about, as I have information that meeting was not scheduled finally and it was considered theoretically only at the level of a talk. As for real reasons of disruption, Russian authorities promoted it purposely", Kalandadze stressed.
The deputy Georgian Foreign Minister noted that the Georgian party wanted to continue meetings.
"We really want to preserve this mechanism and it was the Russian party that opposed it. We hope we will be able to continue these meetings", Kalandadze noted.
According to the Georgian party's information, the last meeting under IPRM was scheduled for April 24, but it was disrupted because of Sukhumi's position. De-factor MFA of separatist authorities of Abkhazia stated on April 25 that the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in Georgia , headed by Andrzej Tyszkiewicz was not disposed to conduct nonbiased monitoring and assess objectively processes, endangering security in the region. Besides, the Abkhaz party announced Tyszkiewicz "a person non grata on the territory of Abkhazia".
Meetings under IPRM have not been held since that time.
