The reports about mass distribution of Russian passports among Georgian Armenians are exaggerated, Georgia's Deputy Foreign Minister David Zalkaniani said.
Georgia Online quotes him as saying that no such facts have been registered.
Earlier former Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Nikoloz Vahsakidze said that by distributing its passports among the Armenian population of Georgia's Samtskhe-Javakheti region, Russia is trying to kindle a conflict between Georgia and Armenia so as to be able to invade into that region.
Zalkaniani said that the Georgian authorities are attentively following the debates on a Russian bill on easy naturalization in Russia for Russian-speaking citizens from neighboring countries and is ready to react should it contain any points aimed against Georgia's interests.
