Heritage Party has not yet decided if it will take part in the political consultations with the Armenian President concerning the candidatures for new Prime Minister but the chances that it will do it are low, MP from Heritage Party Tevan Poghosyan told ArmInfo on Tuesday.
Earlier the Armenian National Congress said that it was not willing to conduct consultations with an illegitimate president.
The ARFD will participate in the debates and will even make proposals concerning the work of the new Cabinet. So, the party's decision on who will be the next Prime Minister will depend on whether its proposals are accepted or not.
It is not yet clear what Prosperous Armenia Party is going to do. Its MPs are not responding to calls. The only MP who replied, Stepan Margaryan, was rather vague, saying that such consultations are a constitutional norm.
According to ArmInfo's sources, the Prosperous Armenia MPs are silent because their leader Gagik Tsarukyan told them to give no comments on the Prime Minister's resignation. But the same sources say that Prosperous Armenia will attend the consultations.
Armenia's Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan resigned on Apr 3 without clear explanations. President Serzh Sargsyan is now supposed to appoint new PM within 10 days. Among the possible candidates are Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Hovik Abrayhamyan, Secretary of the National Security Council Artur Baghdasaryan, Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan, Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan and Head of the President's Staff Vigen Sargsyan.
