The South Caucasus Railway (SCR) CJSC has launched the sale of Yerevan-Batumi-Yerevan tickets. The Armenia train will operate every day starting from June 15.
The train will start at 3:30 pm. One can buy the tickets at the railway stations of Yerevan, Vanadzor, Gyumri and Armavir, as well as at the website of the company www.ukzhd.am. The travel time from Yerevan to Batumi is 15 hours and 50 minutes, and the return trip lasts 15 hours and 40 minutes. As compared with 2013, the SCR price policy has undergone no tangible changes.
The cars of the Armenia train completely meet the technical and sanitary standards, as well as safety requirements. The compartments and sleeping cars are provided with Wi-Fi. According to the statistical data of the SCR, as compared with 2008 the passenger operations in 2013 grew by 532% from 8.6 thsd to 46 thsd people.
SCR CJSC is a 100% subsidiary of the Russian Railway OJSC and the concessional manager of Armenian Railway CJSC under the 13 Feb 2008 concession agreement. The agreement was signed for 30 years but may be prolonged for 10 more years.
