Government of Armenia adopted a decision on 3 October to redeem the remainder of the Russian stabilization loan ($500) ahead of time. The Government is expected to earmark $440 million to this end. This will allow covering the remainder of the main amount and the interests accrued.
The loan will be redeemed at the expense of the $700 million eurobonds issued on 18 September.
In 2009 Armenia received a $500 million stabilization loan from Russia for a period of 15 years under Libor+3 interest rate. Stating 2013, Armenia was to pay $44 million yearly to redeem the main amount of the loan.
