Armenia's joining the Association Agreement with European Union will positively affect the economy of the country, US Ambassador to Armenia. John Heffern, told journalists in Yerevan today.
"Armenia has been successfully negotiating with the European Union on the Association Agreement and on DCFTA. We are not a part of this process, but we commend the both sides. We think it is good for Armenia. We think that EU process that Armenia is on is very important and I hope it is successful. Armenia is a sovereign country and will associate itself with whichever organization it chooses. Armenia will make its own decisions,"- John Heffern said.
He also added that Armenia's political autumn is going to be very interesting, especially ahead of the Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius. Some important decisions will be made, including for liberalization of civil aviation, the ambassador said.
