Raffi Hovannisian demands rejection from Serzh Sargsyan till 9 April- the inauguration sate of the newly elected president

  • Saturday, March 2, 19:19

The leader of the Heritage party Raffi Hovannisian, which was the second at the presidential race, demanded Serzh Sargsyan's rejection till 9 April, at the mass rally at Liberty Square of Yerevan, 2 March.

'If till 9 April Serzh Sargsyan does not tender his resignation and forswears himself at the Bible during the inauguration, the tragedy will follow it, but not in the form of bloodshed that happened on 1 March 2008 after the presidential election, but a moral tragedy, as lie and falsifications will finally take root in Armenia', - Hovannisian said.

He invited Serzh Sargsyan, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and Yerevan mayor Taron Margaryan to the Liberty Square on 5 March with a demand to account for their "anti-national" actions and fraud during the election and tender their resignation directly at the Liberty Square.

He also promised that he will not allow to steal the choice of people from him. "My programmes and strategy are to preserve the future of Armenia and Armenian people", - Hovannisian assured.

To note, the next rally of the opposition will be held on 5 March at 5:00 PM at the Liberty Square.
