Political expert: Reports that the Azeri Parliament might adopt a law "On Occupied Territories of Azerbaijan" were just an attempt to see the reaction of the Azeri society, Armenia and the world community
Marat Terterov: Armenia’s long term security will be better served by strengthening economic security, rather than defining national security on the basis of the Tsarist Russian catch-cry “armiya i flot”
As of 12 Feb 2013, the law-enforcers of Armenia received 22 complaints about violations in the course of the electoral campaign. The press service of the Armenian Police told ArmInfo that a material was prepared on the basis of one of the complaints; however, there are not enough grounds to inquire into the case.
Two applications were followed by a decision not to institute a criminal case, and materials are being prepared on the basis of 15 materials, 3 of them at the Special Investigative Service and 1 at the National Security Service.
The complaints about the violations have mostly been received from Heritage Party, which nominated Raffi Hovannisian's candidacy for the forthcoming presidential election.
To note, the following candidates will run for presidency on Feb 18: incumbent President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, former Prime Minister Hrant Bagratyan, leader of Heritage Party Raffi Hovhannisian, leader of Self-Determination Union Paruyr Hayrikyan, former Foreign Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh Arman Melikyan, political expert Andreas Ghukasyan and folklore specialist Vartan Sedrakyan.
