Former candidate for Goris governor, CEO of "Goris Gamma" OJSC Tigran Karapetyan will bring suit against Volodya Hovhannisyan, the adviser to Syunik governor Suren Khachatryan, for slandering him and his family, Karapetyan told ArmInfo journalist.
To note, Hovhannisyan gave an interview to the media accusing Karapetyan for inciting the Goris incident during which Goris resident Harut Zakaryan was severely beaten and lost his sight.
Speaking of the accusations, Karapetyan particularly said: "I believe it to be beneath my dignity to comment on Hovhannisyan's statements. I can only say that the case is under the jurisdiction of the law enforcement bodies. The investigation will answer all the questions. I have nothing to hide. At the same time I cannot sit twiddling my thumbs and watch Hovhannisyan defacing my family and me. I am determined to file a lawsuit against Hovhannisyan", said Karapetyan.
Karapetyan said he had also turned to law enforcement bodies requesting to ensure his and his family's security. "I have been compelled to take such actions given the threats directed against me and attempts at dragging me into acts of provocation", said Karapetyan.
On May 2 Surik Khachatryan aka Liska's son Tigran Khachatryan got involved in another bloody showdown. Goris police precinct received a call from Goris medical center on May 2 at around 21:35.
