The Parliamentary forces of Armenia made a common announcement concerning the escalation of the situation in the zone of Karabakh conflict.

The political forces, represented at the Armenian National Assembly, made a common announcement concerning the escalation of the situation on the contact line of Karabakh-Azerbaijani armies and on Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

It is particularly mentioned in the announcement that: "The situation on the contact line of Karabakh-Azerbaijani armies and on Armenian-Azerbaijani border still remains stressful. Over last days the enemy kept taking diverse actions in order to penetrate into Armenian territories".  Armenian parliamentarians are sure that Azerbaijan tries to take advantage of the new geo- political realities and to use such adventurous means in order to undermine the peaceful settlement of Karabakh conflict.  "Irresponsible and non-adequate actions of Azerbaijani forces contradict the principles of international community and the OSCE Minsk Group for a peaceful solution to the conflict. Once again Armenian Armed Forces had to fight the enemy back, forcing it to step back with big losses. Our border guards have proven that they will not let Azerbaijan achieve the military advantage", the announcement said.

In this light, the political forces of the National Assembly of RA note the necessity of social consolidation around the Armenian Armed Forces. In this context they call on the OSCE Minsk Group to take actions for the elimination of snipers from the contact line of Karabakh- Azerbaijani armies and from the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. The authors of the announcement also call on the Minsk intermediaries to take actions to investigate the border incidents and to put an end to announcements arousing the interethnic hatred.  The representatives of Armenian Parliamentary forces also call on the international community and foreign governments to refuse from the policy of generalized classification of the parties' actions and to condemn the provocative actions of Azerbaijan towards a military solution to the Karabakh conflict. The announcement also contains the call to stop the sale of weapons to Azerbaijan whose policy is based on the military adventurism.

Thus the parliamentary forces of Armenia announce that if Baku continues unconstructive policy all the responsibility for the farther development of the situation will lie on the shoulders of Azerbaijan. "Armenian people and Armenian soldiers have proven and will keep on proving their ability to protect the security of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. The political forces of the Armenian parliament are united in their commitment to promote Armenian army and Armenian soldier",- said the announcement signed by the Republican party of Armenia, ARF "Dashnaktsutyun", "Prosperous Armenia", "Heritage", "Orinats Yerkir" and Armenian National Congress.
