Raffi Hovannisian thinks it is necessary to refuse OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs' principles of Karabakh peace process

 After the co-chair countries of the OSCE Minsk Group qualified the rigged presidential election in Armenia as legitimate, Armenian people should refuse the co- chairs' principles of the Karabakh peace process, Raffi Hovannisian, leader of the opposition Heritage Party, said at today's rally in Liberty Square.    

ArmInfo's correspondent quotes Hovannisian as saying: "I am ready to meet with the OSCE MG co-chair countries' presidents personally and over-persuade them of the illegitimacy of the election. However, this will not relieve them of the responsibility they have assumed when congratulating the president elected by means of rigged election".

He said that unlike the OSCE MG co-chairs, the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission has come to its senses and presented the real ituation in the interim report. However, this step does not relieve them of their fault, he said.  

Hovannisian also called on the judges of the Constitutional Court to make a fair decision in the people's favor for the first time. "They should punish the people, who rigged the election, as the election is not a lesson in drawing, and the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia together with the Republican Party of Armenia should realize it. I am not going to yield and I am waiting for the authorities to cede the power without any rebellion", he said.

Hovannisian thinks that the Armenian authorities are concerned over the current situation in the country, this is why President Serzh Sargsyan, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan refused his proposal to come to Liberty Square to account to the people.

The Heritage leader expressed his willingness to meet with the authorities again if they are brave enough to invite him. "I advise the small and naughty Republicans not to offend me, as I will shortly come and say to them: "Hello: Your days are numbered", he said. 

In the meantime, he pointed out that he is open for cooperation and this is proved by his meetings with the Prosperous Armenia Party, ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party and Sardarapat Movement. He added that he is also ready to cooperate with the Armenian National Congress and all the political forces to return the power to the people. 

Hovannisian said that on March 6 he is going to meet with foreign high-ranking officials and continue his rallies in the regions of the republic.
