Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon will visit Armenia in autumn this year, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian stated at the joint conference with Tajikistan's Foreign Minister Sirodjidin Aslov on July 2.
According to the Armenian minister he has discussed the process of organization of the visit with his Tajik counterpart.
He also recalled that last year presidents of Armenia and Tajikistan agreed to take practical steps on developing bilateral relations. According to Nalbandian current visit of Tajikistan's Foreign Minister to Armenia and accreditation of the first Tajikistan's Ambassador to Armenia are considered in this light.
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian also informed that he has discussed with his counterpart from Tajikistan a wide range of issues of both bilateral and multilateral format particularly development of cooperation in political, economic, cultural and educational fields as well as possibilities for implementation of mutually beneficial programs.
"The importance of regular holding of inter-ministerial consultations, strengthening of cooperation on the international platforms, enlargement of legal framework was emphasized. In this context I consider important document on holding consultations between the foreign ministries of Armenia and Tajikistan in 2016-2018, which was signed today", Nalbandian mentioned.
He has also informed that during the meeting the issue of activation of work of the Armenian-Tajik inter- parliamentary economic commission has been discussed and noted that in the nearest future the regular session of the commission will be held. The minister touched upon the cooperation in the trade and economic field and partnership within CSTO.
Tajikistan's Foreign Minister in his turn stated that during the constructive and meaningful discussions issues of both regional and international agenda were touched upon. "We discussed possible directions in which our countries may establish mutually beneficial cooperation. We expressed interest in development of inter-parliamentary and inter-governmental ties. We agreed on the necessity to resume the activities of the intergovernmental trade economic commission and stressed the importance of establishing contacts in humanitarian, cultural and educational fields", Aslov summarized.
