Saakashvili is Sure Nobody will Manage to Return Georgia Back to the Past

Tbilisi. President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili is sure European values are more important for Georgian people than money. He stated about at the final press-conference of the international conference "Georgia's European Way: EU and its European Neighbors" on Tuesday, July 10.

"Those, who want to return Georgia back to the darkness will fail to do it as one person can sell out in Georgia, but the Georgian people are not sold out. The Georgian society knows very well that the question is about sale of their motherland", Saakashvili said.

According to him, the last debates in the European Parliament showed that nobody in Europe supported money-based policy.

"Some politicians try to return Georgia to the past. It does not happen in the civilized world.  The debates in Europe, where representatives of all parties spoke about bribing, manipulations, machinations and not democratic actions, testified vividly to it.  We have received an evident message - such money and machinations are from one source, which is located in the north, two hour flight from our country. Such things are acceptable there, but to the west people have conscience and nothing is concealed in conditions of democracy", President of Georgia said.

According to Saakashvili, Georgia is building a European state, based on a principle of separation of money and politics.

"This principle will always be in force as the Georgian people are European nation", Saakashvili stressed.

During last time the authorities of the country state more often about violations, made by the oppositional coalition Georgian Dream and its leader, billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili.  At the present time accounts of some organizations, connected with the billionaire, and a part of his property have been seized and put up for the auction.
