Prosperous Armenia Party expects explanations from Armenia's Foreign Ministry concerning the Customs Union and the negotiations with European Union. Only then will the party make known its position on the matter, secretary of the party's parliamentary group Naira Zohrabyan told ArmInfo on Wednesday.
"Just a year ago Armenia's Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan told Kommersant that there is no sense for Armenia to join the Customs Union as the country has no common border with its member states. So, now we are expecting explanations from the officials who were negotiating with the EU," Zohrabyan said.
To remind, after a meeting with the Russian President in Moscow on Tuesday Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said that Armenia is going to join the Customs Union and to contribute to the formation of the Eurasian Economic Union.
Member of the European parliament Elmar Brok told RFE that this decision has put a stop to Armenia's Association Agreement and DCFTA negotiations with the EU.
