Marat Terterov: Armenia’s long term security will be better served by strengthening economic security, rather than defining national security on the basis of the Tsarist Russian catch-cry “armiya i flot”
The Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of South Sudan signed an official document on establishment of diplomatic relations, APA reports.
The document was signed by Ambassador Agshin Mehdiyev, Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the UN, and Ambassador Francis Deng, Permanent Representative of South Sudan to the UN.
The people voted for the region's independence in the referendum held in the South Sudan on 2011. Dissatisfied with this result, the united Sudan government wanted to solve this problem by military means, but it was failed and the world community recognized the independence of South Sudan.
To note, earlier Armenian experts and politicians repeatedly stressed that Armenian diplomacy should use the recognition of South Sudan as a precedent for international recognition of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic's independence.
