Tbilisi. Georgian Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary, Levan Tsintsadze, handed over his credentials to His Imperial
Majesty Emperor Akihito of Japan on Wednesday, March 12.
As the Georgian Foreign Ministry reports,
during the audience with the His Imperial Majesty Emperor Akihito it was noted
that the new Ambassador's experience, gained from many years' successful
activities in Japan, would positively contribute and deepen Georgia-Japan
friendly ties.
His Imperial Majesty wished the Ambassador
success in his diplomatic mission: the Ambassador, in his turn, expressed the
willingness to actively promote bilateral relations.
On behalf of the Cabinet of Japan the Minister of Land, Infrastructure,
Transport and Tourism of Japan, Akihory Ota, attended the ceremony at the
Imperial Palace. The Ambassador held a meeting with him before presenting
credentials.
The Cabinet of Japan is the executive
branch of the government of Japan. It consists of the Prime Minister, who is
appointed by the Emperor after being designated by the National Diet, and up to
fourteen other members, called Ministers of State.
Georgia established diplomatic relations
between with Japan on August 3, 1992.
