One can simply welcome raising of salary of 230 000 state employees of Armenia, the head of the Armenian president's administration, Vigen Sargsyan, said when replying to the question of a deputy from the opposition Heritage party faction, Zarui Postanjan, what new he is going to do after raising of his salary.
"I would like to remind the respectful deputy that not only my salary will grow, or that of functionaries from the president's administration or ministries. I think that it is also important to raise the salary of teachers, servicemen and others. For this reason, I hope that the National Assembly will undoubtedly adopt a relevant law", - Sargsyan concluded.
On 23 October the National Assembly discussed the draft law "On a single salary system of state servants" in the first reading. For the next five years minimal salary in the country will grow from the present 35 thsd drams up to 70 thsd drams. The minimal salary for 2014 will be fixed at the level 50 thsd drams, for 2015 - 55 thsd drams and for 2016 - 62 thsd drams. In case of using of the individual salary setting (taking into account using of a social package), minimal salary will be 90 thsd drams and more. It is also foreseen to pay bonus not less than 10% out of the size of the salary which will be paid twice per year.
To note, according to the draft law, the salary of the president will grow by 203% - from the present 436 thsd drams up to 1,223 mln drams, of the prime minister - by 218% - from the present 335 thsd drams up to 1,190 mln drams. Salary of the ministers will grow by 139% and amount to 600 thsd drams. As for the salary of members of the parliament, it will be by 132 thsd drams less than salary of ministers.
