Azerbaijan's video about the Armenian serviceman's crossing the contact line into Azerbaijan blatantly violates the international legal standards that regulate such cases, the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army says in a statement sent to ArmInfo.
"The video telling about the very moment of the Armenian serviceman's crossing the border into the territory of Azerbaijan has nothing to do with the reality. The video says that at the moment of the crossing, the Azeri frontier guards were on their positions, however, in the reality the Azeri positions in that section of the contact line were empty. Moreover, it would have been impossible to record any videos on the contact line at that moment because the Armenian frontier guards would simply have neutralized anyone doing it. As regards the statement the Armenian serviceman is making on the video, it is the result of the violence applied against him and it is obvious in the video itself," says NKR Defense Army.
To note, a contract serviceman of the NKR Defense Army, Andranik Grigoryan (1991) crossed the border into Azerbaijan on March 22, at about 1.50pm, leaving his arms and ammunition on the combat position. Investigation is underway.
In this light, Azerbaijan has shared a video, in which the Armenian serviceman says that he was not alone when crossing the contact line, however, his fellow serviceman did not manage to cross the line. He says that he has crossed the line of contact because he allegedly underwent violence in the NKR Defense Army and because he was afraid of death.
