Armenia will again succeed at reconciling the parallel cooperation with Russia and the West, American analyst Paul Stronki says.
The main evidence of Yerevan's success, he continues, is the fact that Moscow is willing to deploy "Iskander-M" missile complexes in Armenia. He thinks that Kremlin's step is not directed towards solving global problems alone. Moscow is bending every effort to balance the number of weapons it has sold to Azerbaijan, a country, which has been in a protracted conflict with Armenia.
Voice of America informs that Stornski does believe official Yerevan always keeps a keen eye on the situation to avoid bumping into a contradictory situation between superpowers. Yerevan aspires to maintain the balance of the strategic cooperation with Russia with the close economic and military cooperation with the West.
Although minister of Defence of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan has denied the rumours on spending the Russian 200-mln-USD loan to purchase "Iskander" complexes, the media keeps spreading the aforementioned information.
