Tbilisi. A group, comprising 23 Georgians- victims of trafficking, returned from Turkey to the Motherland, Georgian Mass Media reported on Sunday, July 29. All of them are residents of Zestafoni town (Western Georgia).
Georgian citizens went to Turkey after some Lasha Navareli had promised to provide them with jobs. But after they arrived in the country, they were locked in the basement and demanded to pay a ransom amounting $2000 each.
As the former hostages said, they were not given food and were threatened by arms.
According to the statement, Turkish law enforcement bodies have already detained the criminals, but details of the operation are not made public.
