Well-known pianist Hayk Melikyan has cancelled his concert in Hungary following the Hungarian authorities' decision to extradite Ramil Safarov to Azerbaijan.
The press service of the pianist reports that Melikyan was supposed to play in Budapest, Oct 23 and to perform works by Hungarian composers in Yerevan in Nov, but has cancelled both concerts.
"Mr. Melikyan is insulted by the humiliating action of the Hungarian authorities," his press service says.
To remind, Ramil Safarov, an Azeri officers who killed his Armenian counterpart Gurgen Margaryan with an axe in Budapest in 2004 and was sentenced by a Hungarian court to life in jail, was extradited by the Hungarian authorities to Azerbaijan on Aug 31 and proclaimed as a national hero there.
