More than 500 participants of the second Global Social-Political Forum Against the Crime of Genocide will discuss problems of refugees on April 23 in Yerevan, Head of Armenian President's Administration, coordinator of the events commemorating the Armenian Genocide Vigen Sargsyan stated. "This year we will discuss one of the most urgent problems: the problem of refuges will be the topic of the event", he noted. According to him, after holding the first forum the Armenian Genocide is being considered not only as tragedy of the Armenian people but also a crime, which has its punishment. Besides, one of the achievements of the previous forum was the fact that UN announced December 9 as Day of Remembrance of Genocide Victims. Armenia has become a platform, from which the necessity of preventing genocide is stated, however this does not mean that only we should raise this issue. This is the right and obligation of the whole world", he noted. At the same time Sargsyan mentioned that the threat of genocide will remain as long as the policy of denial exists. Sargsyan also emphasized that besides the main topics Azerbaijan's aggression will also be discussed at the forum. Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Karen Nazaryan in his turn stated that the main goal of this forum is continuing initiative policy on preventing genocides. He also did not exclude that Azerbaijan's aggression will be possibly discussed at the forum. "This will depend on the approaches of the event participants", he noted. Nazaryan also added that 70 foreign journalists will cover the event, which is an additional way to voice the problems. Chairman of National Assembly's Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Artak Zakaryan stated that the opinions raised during the forum may become basis for adopting relevant documents and resolutions in the international structures.
