Marat Terterov: Armenia’s long term security will be better served by strengthening economic security, rather than defining national security on the basis of the Tsarist Russian catch-cry “armiya i flot”
Serious progress has been observed in Armenia in terms of both electoral campaign and voting process, OSCE observer, Greek MP Nikolaos Kouik said during his meeting with Vice Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Edward Sharmazanov on Tuesday.
He said that the OSCE observers did their best to effectively observe the election and to register its results.
Kouik expressed hope that Armenia will also gain much progress in the sphere of European integration and added that Armenia's European friends and first and foremost Greek partners are ready to contribute to it. Kouik added that the first thing he did on his arrival in Armenia was his visit to the Memorial dedicated to the Armenian Genocide victims.
Sharmazanov, in turn, said that the democratic election is already an undisputable fact in Armenia, and by means of election the authorities demonstrated a political will to continue the large-scale reforms.
The meeting also covered issues related to the Armenian-Greek inter-parliamentary relations, mutual visits of the parliamentary friendship groups, cooperation of Armenian and Greek parliamentarians in the sphere of parliamentary diplomacy.
