By the premier's resignation Serzh Sargsyan is trying to lower temperature of the public and political tension, deputy of the parliament from the opposition Armenian National Congress, Lyudmila Sargsyan, said at today's press-conference.
"Although they state that now former Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan had decided to resign a month ago, he was "forced" to resign. Such a decision was adopted at 26 Baghramian {Avenue, which is the official address of the Presidential Palace]. During the Cabinet meeting yesterday morning, Tigran Sargsyan didn't even know that he would resign on the same day. The pressure by the four non-ruling-coalition NA factions and the "Dem.Am [I am against]" civic initiative which opposes the mandatory component of the new pension law in Armenia also impacted Sargsyan's resignation", - she said.
At the same time, she is confident that the president will not manage to weaken the wave of protest, as everybody understand that only by replacement of the premier the key problems of the country cannot be resolved. "The system should be fully demounted. And we need Serzh Sargsyan's resignation for that, as well as formation of the legitimate power by means of the parliamentary and presidential elections", - Lyudmila Sargsyan said.
