The mankind should correctly assess the events happened at the beginning of the 20th century, Russia's Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Volynkin told journalist today when visiting the memorial to the victims of the Armenian genocide.
"The document which the Russian State Duma adopted in 1995, and which is titled "Condemnation of the 1915-1922 Armenian Genocide," is one of the first statements on the recognition of the crime that occurred at the turn of the last century", - he said and added that the abovementioned statement noted that the brotherly Armenian people's physical extermination aimed to create conditions for the subsequent destruction of Russia. "This is inter-connected. For this reason, we should correctly assess the events happened at the beginning of the 20th century", - Russia's Ambassador said.
