Saakashvili and Merabishvili Sign Agreement with Population of Georgia

Tbilisi.  On the initiative of the President of Georgia, the ruling party United National Movement elaborated a text of the  agreement with the population - "The Agreement with Georgia". The document, which has been already signed by President of the Country Mikheil Saakashvili and Prime Minister Ivane (Vano) Merabishvili, is published on the United National Movement's site on Wednesday, July 18.

Each family in Georgia will get this agreement as a guarantee of fulfilling promises.

                Here is the text of the document:

                "During last eight years the United National Movement together with the Georgian people get rid of corruption and criminal. It is building new Georgia at present. But many families  are still needy and many people have not been employed. Each family should get more benefit  from progress and success of Georgia.  That's why the United National  Movement's main task for next four years will be "More Benefit for People"

                To achieve this objective the United National  Movement promises by this agreement that during the forthcoming four years unemployment level will be reduced by half, the Ministry for Employment will work effectively, each unemployed person will be registered, all job seekers will be re-trained  at expense of state funds and get new qualification, including in the new technical college and training centers.

                Socially vulnerable people, children up to 6 years, pensioners, teachers, IDPs, policemen and militaries will have medical insurance policies of corresponding categories, the rest categories of citizens will be able to get a basic insurance package, health care will be accessible  for everybody.

                Productivity of agriculture will increase twice- a  problem of water, gas, roads will be settled in all villages, over 500 new agricultural enterprises will be opened, additional 90 thousand ha of land will be irrigated, 2000 new tractors will be transferred to villages, agriculture will be mechanized completely, 90% of agricultural lands will be cultivated.

                Each family will get GEL1000 voucher and families will decide themselves what problem to resolve with these money assistance. This voucher will give a possibility to cover expenses for power, gas, water, etc; to buy medicines and text-books, pay for fuel and fertilizers, rent agricultural vehicle.

                By this agreement the United National Movement states that by creating additional jobs, providing access to health care, developing agriculture we will reach the main goal- "More Benefit for Population".
