Political expert: Reports that the Azeri Parliament might adopt a law "On Occupied Territories of Azerbaijan" were just an attempt to see the reaction of the Azeri society, Armenia and the world community
Marat Terterov: Armenia’s long term security will be better served by strengthening economic security, rather than defining national security on the basis of the Tsarist Russian catch-cry “armiya i flot”
The sharp decrease of the investments volume is one of the dismal factors which have been negatively affecting macro-economic indices of Armenia,
ex-foreign minister of Armenia, a deputy from Prosperous Armenia Party, Vartan Oskanian, wrote at his page in Facebook.
<Without the inflow of foreign investments, it is impossible to provide stable economic development of the republic", - he said and added that the investment volume in the economy of Armenia dropped by 40% in the first half of 2012 versus the first half of 2011. This indicator grew up to 60% by the 3Q of 2012, he said.
Oskanian said that lack of prospects and confidence in the future of the country as well as uncertainty, lack of justice and selective application of the public justice also affect decrease of investments. "And lack of guarantees of peace and stability is the most serious obstacle on the way of making investments. Today Azerbaijan has been arming like never before and hardening its militaristic rhetoric. It often breaks cease-fire regime. As for the negotiating process on Karabakh conflict settlement, it has ended in deadlock", - Oskanian said.
