Daniil Ioannisian, one of the organizers of the 2 December rally in the Liberty Square in Yerevan, has appealed to Police Head Vladimir Gasparyan with an open letter.
The activist informs the Police Head of the rally that starts in the Liberty Square at 1:00pm on 2 December and the march that will follow it.
"The visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin, which became the reason of our rally, was announced on 27 November 2013 and the organizers of today's assembly had no sufficient time to inform the authorized structures of their urgent assembly. Consequently, in line with Article 26 of the Law On the Freedom of Assemblies, today's rally is an urgent assembly and the authorized structures are informed of it. As a participant in the assembly, I ask for security of the assembly and the march and for exercising the right to freedom of assembly in conformity with Article 29 of the Constitution of Armenia, the Law on Freedom of Assembly and Article 11 of the European Convention for Human Rights," the activists says in the letter.
