"All embezzlers of public funds, no matter how old are their crimes, must be brought accountable, including me, if caught red-handed," Vardan Ayvazyan, the head of the Armenian Parliament Committee for Economic Affairs, ex-minister of nature protection, a member of the ruling Republican Party, told reporters, Monday.
In his words, the latest developments in Karabakh showed that the military equipment of Armenia is not as good as one could think. "We understood that it was self-deception to hope that our senior brother will help us at the hard moment. We must unite to spend all our resources to upgrade the combat efficiency of our army. We must stop all unjustified budget expenditures, for instance, building of schools in the regions where few residents have remained, and direct all these funds to equip the Armed Forces," Ayvazyan said adding that he was shocked with the morale of the 20-year-old soldiers that fought the enemy.
