The Armenian police will not allow protestors to march towards Baghramyan Avenue, Valery Osipyan, the deputy chief of the Yerevan police, told the media in Liberty Square on July 6.
According to him, the march is unauthorized and forbidden by the law. Osipyan has said that citizens should turn to relevant bodies to get a permission to hold a march.
The police are again calling upon citizens to go home and wait for the ENA audit results.
He also denied the accusations on the fact that the police had used force against protestors when dispersing the rally in Baghramyan Avenue on July 6 in the afternoon.
He claims this to be another attempt at casting an imputation at law enforcement bodies' employees. He assures that all the actions were taken within the limits of the law. To note, earlier today, on July 6, the Armenia's Police dispersed the protest against the electricity prices hikes after weeks of sit-in on Baghramyan Avenue where the president's headquarters is located. The Police have opened the traffic way by leaving the barricades of litterbins separating the protesters and police for two weeks. An estimated 46 protesters have been detained. Among the detainees are activists Vaghinak Shushanyan and David Sanasaryan.
More than thousand people have gathered in Liberty Square at the moment.
