Tbilisi. Georgian Foreign Minister, Maia Panjikidze, met with
European Commission high-rank officials as part of the working visit of the
Georgian delegation to Belgium. Georgian
delegation, led by Prime Minister, Irakli Gharibashvili, held a number of
meetings within the framework of the two-day visit to Belgium - Georgian
Foreign Ministry reports.
According to the report, during the visit,
Minister Panjikidze met the European External Action Service's Deputy Secretary
General, Helga Schmid. The sides touched upon various aspects of the EU-Georgia
co- operation and focused on the European Union's role in terms of security and
stability in the region.
Maia Panjikidze also met with the European
Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy, Stefan Fule; the
European Energy Commissioner, Gunther Oettinger; and the European Commissioner
for Development, Andris Piebalgs - Press and Information Department of the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia reports.
The priority areas for co-operation
between EU and Georgia were in focus at the meetings.
