The current situation in Yerevan demonstrates that there is a need for dialog between the Armenian society and the supreme leadership of the country on external and domestic issues including explanations of the process of Karabakh settlement, the statement made by the Head of World Armenian Congress Ara Abrahamyan reads.
According to the statement creating mechanisms for dialog among the authorities, opposition and the society will change the climate in the country and will minimize the practice of solving issues on the street especially by using force.
Abrahamyan also calls for the authorities and the law enforcement bodies to display reasonableness and exclude bloodshed aiming at exclusively peaceful resolution of the situation.
At the same time Abrahamyan noted that enforcement under threat of using weapons is not an acceptable method in the civilized world even if the rebels are sure in the rightness of their actions.
