Members of the Heritage party since the very first day of its setting up have always been next to ordinary citizens of the country and their problems trying to
settle them as much as they could, the leader of the Heritage party, candidate for president, Raffi Hovannisian, said during the meeting with residents of Ijevan town.
He recalled that just members of the parliament from the Heritage party were between policemen and participants in the rally on 1 March 2008, preventing bloodshed, and MP Armen Martirosyan was even wounded. "We have been doing all this, as unlike other parties , we do not share our citizens according to their party identification. We are a single country - a single society, and we shall prove that on 18 February", - the candidate for president said. Touching on the
campaign meetings of the incumbent President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, Hovannisian said that people are forcefully taken to these meetings by special buses.
After that he paid a sudden visit to the governor of Tavush region, Armen Gularyan and called on him to hold fair election. For his part, the governor replied that all the elections held in the region headed by him were in line with the legislation, and said that election campaign is usually held in the streets but in the
administration building.
In Armenia's Dilijan town, Raffi Hovannisian paid a visit to the campaign headquarters of the ruling Republican Party presidential candidate, incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan.
Kicking off his campaign trail in Tavush Region from Dilijan, Hovannisian, as usual, did not deliver a speech, but rather toured the city streets, speaking with the locals and entering a variety institutions, markets, and stores. Also, Hovannisian entered Sargsyan's local campaign headquarters, and spoke with the activists
inside. He urged them to make a free choice for the wellbeing of Armenia.
At the end, Raffi Hovannisian paid a visit to Dilijan Municipality, where he met with Mayor Armen Santrosyan and likewise urged him to conduct fair election.
