The speaker of the Armenian parliament Hovik Abrahamyan has got a new rival in the struggle for the premier's position, Hraparak daily reported, referring to its own sources, according to which the former mayor of Yerevan, Karen Karapetyan's, candidacy as Armenia's premier in being discussed behind the scenes.
The source also added that the budget of the country is in a catastrophic state. The West abandoned the function of Armenia's "donor", and the country hopes only for the Russian credits, which Moscow will deliver only to "its man" in the person of Karen Karapetyan, who occupies high position in "Gasprom".
For his part, Karapetyan is ready to become Armenia's premier only if he become a "successor" at the presidential election in 2018,
To recall, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan tendered his resignation on 3 April.
