The leader of the Orinats Yerkir party, Artur Bagdasaryan, said at today's press-conference that he does not rule out his running for president of Armenia in 2018.
He emphasized that today the domestic political processes in the country increase the possibility of extraordinary parliamentary election holding. "There has never been such a distribution of forces in the National Assembly - 5 factions against 1 which is formally the majority. This is abnormal, as the power balance has been broken and measures should be taken to restore it", - he said. As for extraordinary presidential election, one should not wait for them, as there are no pre-conditions for that. "The term of President Serzh Sargsyan's staying in office will end in three years. I don't think that any extraordinary situations are possible for that period of time", - he said.
To note, Orinats Yerkir party is going to hold a rally at the Liberty Square of Yerevan, on 18 July to voice the key problems of the country and to present political agenda of the party and its further steps.
