The Armenian society needs additional information about the agreements with EU on simplification of the visa regime and readmission, secretary of the Prosperous Armenia Party parliamentary faction, Naira Zohrabyan, said at today's parliamentary hearings on the issue.
<Representatives of the Armenian Diaspora expressed concern about singing an agreement on readmission between Armenia and the EU, as they do not have enough information. Such a concern is groundless", - she said and added that the given agreements will make it possible to continue the dialogue with the EU.
For his part, Armenia's former foreign minister, Aleksandr Arzumanyan, said that the citizens of Armenia living in abroad should not become concerned about the readmission agreement."At present Armenia has a bilateral agreement on readmission with 13 countries of the EU", - he said and added that thanks to long hard work Armenia has managed to sign an agreement on simplification of the visa regime and readmission.
At the same time, Arzumanyan thinks that at present Armenia has found itself in a very hard situation. "Although the authorities of the country do not confess pressure by Moscow upon Yerevan, this is an obvious fact. Nevertheless, we have to hope for development of the Armenia-EU partnership, although at a lower level", - Arzumanyan concluded.
To note, the agreement on simplification of the visa regime was signed in September 2012, and on readmission between Armenia and the EU - in April 2013. -a-
