The Court of Appeal continues hearing the case of Tigran Arakelyan, Artak Karapetyan, Sargis Gevorgyan and David Kiramijyan, opposition activists arrested following a clash with police in 2011 and sentenced to different terms in prison.
Currently the hearing has been suspended because of the absence of Gevorgyan and Kiramijyan, who received suspended sentences.
Arakelyan and Karapetyan were welcomed in court by a group of supporters in T-shirts saying "Freedom to Tigran Arakelyan!"
Arakelyan himself was in such a T-shirt.
To remind, Arakelyan, Karapetyan, Gevorgyan and Kiramijyan were accused of applying violence against public officers and were sentenced to six, three, two and two years in jail, respectively. A few days ago the President of Armenia announced an amnesty, so, the activists may be set free.
