Tbilisi. Justice Minister of Georgia does not exclude that ex- President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili, accused of official power abuse, may be announced wanted.
"The court chose pre-trial detention for him (Saakashvili), in this case he has certain commitment - to face the investigation and the court and all law-stipulated measures may be taken, including international so that this person would face the investigation and the court", Tsulukiani told journalists on Monday, August 4.
She stressed that analogous legal frames were in force regarding any accused, not only Saakashvili.
"Mikheil Saakashvili is one of the ordinary accused persons", the Georgian Justice Minister added.
Lawyers of Saakashvili, Adeishvili and Kezerashvili have already filed a suit to the Court of Appellate with the demand to cancel the lower instance's ruling.
Charges to representatives of the previous Georgian authorities were brought in absentia on July 29. The Chief Prosecutor's Office instituted criminal proceedings against Saakashvili after he had not come for interrogation on July 28, at appointed time. Georgian ex-premier and ex-Interior Minister as well as Tbilisi former mayor Gigi Ugulava have been involved in the abovementioned case.
