Baku. During five months, 2012 1.8 billion cub.m. of gas was exported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline within the Stage-1 project of development of Shah-Deniz gas condensate field.
According to the monthly report of the Azerbaijan State Statistical Committee, export dropped by 300 million cub.m. against the same period last year. Turkey is the main gas importer via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline. Every year it reduces gas import, because Azerbaijani gas is supplied to the east of Turkey, which almost has no demand in growth of gas and climatic conditions allow this part of the country reducing gas consumption. During 2011 4.5 billion cub.m. of gas was delivered to Turkey via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline, down 400 million cub.m. against 2010.
In January 2012 gas export via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline totaled 434.7 million cub.m., in February - 427.9 million cub.m., in March - 437.4 million cub.m., in April -300 million cub.m. and in May - 200 million cub.m.
