A criminal case was has been instituted against the policeman, who slapped an elderly man in the face during the August 21 rally. The Special Investigative Service reports that the criminal case has been instituted under Article 309 Part 2 (abuse of office with the use of violence, weapons and special means).
Earlier the Prosecutor General's Office reported that citizen Hakob Nazari-Dehnavi stated that on August 21 a policeman slapped him in the face.
To recall, during the protest action of the Stand Up Armenia initiative on August 21, senior lieutenant Arthur Vadgesyan slapped a 67-year-old man in the face, shouting "Calm down!" The policeman's powers have been terminated. Official investigation is underway.
