Director General of South Caucasus Railway sums up results of Company's activity for January

Director General of South Caucasus Railway CJSC Victor Rebets summed up the results of the Company's activity for January at the Feb 8 discussion.

He said that car-loadings in January outstripped the target by 2% and the indicator for January 2012 - by 10.6%. Generally, freight activity of the railway for Jan 2013 met the target. Victor Rebets spotlighted an 80% growth of passenger flow versus Jan 2012. He said that the passenger turnover in the international railway communication exceeded the indicator for Jan 2012. This indicator in the local communication has doubled.

Victor Rebets expressed hope that the Directorate for Passenger Transportation will create all the necessary conditions to retain the given indicators. In addition, the company will offer a range of new services to passengers in 2013, he said. To attract new passengers the company has rehabilitated the railway stations and created passengers hubs. Victor Rebets spotlighted also positive dynamics of the following indicators:  reduction of car detention, average daily run, productivity of the locomotives, etc. However, he said, the company still needs to work to boost freight activity, reduce power and fuel consumption.  As regards the salary at the company, Victor Rebets said that the average salary at the SCR CJSC is nearly 30% higher than the average salary in the country. In 2012 the salary at
the company averaged 157.7 thousand AMD amid 121.3 thousand AMD average salary in the country.

In addition, Rebets said that January proved very rich with events for the Company. Thus, a trilateral memorandum of understanding in the sphere of regional cooperation was signed, a meeting was held with Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, and the work of the large group of the company's employees was completed.

CJSC "South Caucasian Railway" is a 100% subsidiary of JSC "Russian Railways" and provides concession management of Armenian railroads.  CJSC "Armenian Railways" was referred to the concession management to the company "SCR" according to the Concession Agreement signed on February 13, 2008. The term of the concession management is 30 years with possible extension for another 10 years.
