Naira Zohrabyan: Azeri President's speech at PACE summer session was a call for a new war in Nagorno-Karabakh

  • by Nana Martirosyan

  • Monday, July 14, 13:30

The OSCE Minsk Group must take urgent steps to pacify Azerbaijan, Armenian delegate to PACE Naira Zohrabyan said in an interview to ArmInfo.

She said that the Azeri President's speech at the PACE summer session was a call for a new war in Nagorno-Karabakh. She believes that the lack of response from the OSCE Minsk Group was one of the factors that encouraged the Azeris into new raids. "Everybody concerned are surprised to see no response from the OSCE MG. The Azeris continue increasing their military budget and buying arms from Russia. And the OSCE MG must give an appropriate response to this," Zohrabyan said.

Another factor that, according to Zohrabyan, caused the last Azeri raid in Karvachar is negligence by some Armenian military officials.
